Recycling was as seamless as online shopping?
When Kristian Lolk Rautert reached out to fellow business builder Emil Busch, it wasn't just for a catch-up. Kristian, coming from the recycling industry, was frustrated: Why was buying second-life items so complicated, filled with messy processes and hidden costs?
He wondered, what if a streamlined user surface and a top-tier service could motivate a new segment into recycling? What if recycling became the attractive choice, rather than only the ethical one?
The vision was clear: An auction app with software built on honesty and quality, making it just as easy as to shop online. No more messy processes on desktops - just a better way to recycle instead of trashing, and this specially for companies.
And he had to have Emil onboard as a co-founder.
Kristian presented his vision to Emil on a sheet of paper with the headline: Tingster.
The timing was undeniable. With their shared background as business builders, the two founders realized they had the perfect match of skills to disrupt the market. They shook hands on the ownership, agreed that the name Tingster was actually pretty cool and then Tingster was born.
For Emil and Kristian, building a software-driven business that changes how a whole segment views recycling isn't work, it’s exactly the kind of challenge they live for.
