The right team is the most valuable asset to drive development in a startup, and being a mentor or a cofounder is not only very impactful - it’s also a fun ride building a potential scalable business using your skills and knowledge.

This is a unique opportunity for you to become an important part of a high-potential (pre)startup and create impact. Through a combination of a pitch session, a deep talk session and open networking, you'll have the opportunity to meet carefully selected founders/researchers and talk to them 1:1.

• Maskinel - Ruben Bak Sørensen

  Maskinel is a deep-tech engineering and product startup specializing in power conversion and intelligent automation for modern energy systems. The company develops advanced electrical systems and technologies that enable efficient integration of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, fuel cells, and Power-to-X solutions into the grid.

  At its core, Maskinel operates in the field of power electronics, designing and building systems that control, convert, and stabilize electrical energy across applications ranging from kW to MW scale.

  The key problem Maskinel addresses is the growing complexity of modern energy systems. 

  As renewable energy sources become more widespread, there is an increasing need for efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions to manage energy conversion, grid integration, and system control. 

  Maskinel solves this by combining advanced power electronics, real-time control systems, and intelligent automation to optimize performance, reduce losses, and ensure system stability.
  

  Maskinel’s impact lies in enabling the transition to a more sustainable energy infrastructure. By making energy systems more efficient and adaptable, the startup helps accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies while reducing operational costs and energy waste. • DanCap - Jonas Wittmaack

  DanCap is a pre-startup project based on research from SDU developing technology for next-generation capacitors. Capacitors are core components found in nearly all modern electronics and play a critical role in how electricity is stored, controlled, and stabilized.

  The technology behind DanCap thus represents a new generation of capacitor design, developed in collaboration with the capacitor group at the Centre for Industrial Electronics at SDU.

  At its core, the research addresses one of the key challenges in power electronics: energy loss.

  Compared to traditional capacitors, the core research of the pre-startup project offers several key advantages:

  High lifetime. Low loss. Lightweight. Recyclability.

  The underlying concept has been demonstrated in research and is now progressing towards industrial validation.

  DanCap’s vision is to enable more efficient and sustainable power electronics for the electrified future through improved energy conversion efficiency, contributing to lighter, longer-lasting, and more cost-efficient electronic systems.

  Potential users have already shown interest in the capacitor.

  Postdoc Jonas Wittmaack – Lead researcher of pre-startup DanCap

  Looking for:

  A mentor or co-founder to support prototype development, performance validation, and lead future customer projects.

• Tetrapod - Hira Abdullah

  The Tetrapod team has developed an advanced nanomaterial based on zinc oxide (ZnO) tetrapods; a revolutionary new 3D nanomaterial with multifunctional properties.

  The material offers a wide range of advantages, including UV protection, antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral effects, as well as high mechanical stability. 

  It is required in lesser amounts and performs better than conventional materials, making it highly attractive for applications in coatings, cosmetics & healthcare, and water purification.

  The team has already demonstrated the potential through a sunscreen product based on the technology, which has gained international attention and early market interest.

  Tetrapod aims to unlock the full potential of ZnO tetrapods across multiple sectors, as they are preparing to move from science to commercialization. 

  The vision is to build the world's first commercially viable platform for producing smart zinc oxide tetrapods at industrial scale.

  Meet: Hira Abdullah – Translational Researcher, Tetrapod 

  Looking for: A mentor to support scaling from laboratory to industrial production, as well as fundraising and investor relations.

• Tutoria - Frederik Handberg

  Tutoria is a mobile reading-practice app for dyslexic and struggling readers who need clear, explicit, and structured support. It brings structured literacy principles, phonics practice, and guided spoken exercises into the home, helping families make reading practice more understandable, repeatable, and confidence-building.

  For parents, Tutoria offers a more accessible way to support reading without needing to become specialists themselves. 

  We are building a parent-facing learning product with a strong dyslexia lens and a commercial ambition to make high-quality reading support easier to reach.

• Who can participate?

  Anyone interested in becoming a cofounder or a mentor in one of the four pitching energy & tech (pre)startups can participate.
  Your background and experience is not crucial - your skills matching the founders’ skills and vision is crucial though. Having a passion for the startup's mission is also important.

  Do note that this is a non-commiting event - the main purpose is to find potential co-founder/founder matches, but nothing is settled from attending the event.
